Recent solvation dynamics studies support this description, at least for many low molecular-weight glassformers. Polymeric systems on the other hand generally show intrinsic intradomain nonexponential relaxation. See Ref. 24.

note
-
This property has been shown rigorously for the spherical version of the model (Ref. 28) and for the O(n) version with n strictly larger than 2 (Ref. 29). For Ising spins (n=1), the transition line for Q≠0 approaches the critical point at T* and Q=0 in a continuous, albeit nonanalytical way. However, the transition in the presence of frustration is not continuous: it is driven first-order by the fluctuations (Ref. 30).

Current computer simulations strongly suggest that a multistate clock model with long-range (Coulombic) frustration does indeed lead to super-Arrhenius activated dynamics (Ref. 31).
