    • in press. Screening of random peptide libraries for binding to small molecules has been largely unsuccessful. Here the authors show that by sequencing large numbers of peptides that have been affinity selected by screening against a small molecule, sequences can be identified that correspond to motifs present in the biological target of the small molecule

    • Molecular approach to find target(s) for oligoclonal bands in multiple sclerosis
    • By screening a random peptide library for affinity to cerebrospinal fluid IgGs from multiple sclerosis patients, the authors identified a sequence motif corresponding to the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) nuclear antigen. This result suggests that the immune response to this particular antigen in EBV may be a defining event in the development of MS.
