    • The silver sol for this experiment was diluted by a factor of 10 (80 mL of the diluted sol taken for the measurement). This was done to increase the effective SAM to colloidal particle surface ratio, thereby leading to measurable changes in the optical absorption spectra recorded from the clusters desorbed into the silver sol during immersion.
