31. Impedance measurements were carried out with a PAR 283 potentiostat/galvanostat and a PAR 5012 lock-in amplifier interfaced with a computer. ac-impedance measurements were performed at 5 m V root mean square and readings were taken at five discrete frequencies per decade.

36. π - A isotherm measurements were made on a Nima 611 Langmuir - Blodgett trough equipped with a Wilhelmy plate for pressure sensing. Arachidic acid was spread on the colloid surface using chloroform. π-A isotherm measurements were made at a temperature of 25 °C as a function of time after 30 min of spreading the Langmuir monolayer to allow for equilibration.
