    • It would be interesting to examine the recombinative hydrogen desorption from the Si(111)-(2×1) which may have similar structure to C(111)-(2 ×1). As noted by Schulze et al. (Ref. 68) however, for each freshly cleaved Si(111) sample only one TPD run was possible due to the fact that the heat treatment during TPD would lead to the (7×7) reconstruction. Moreover, the hydrogen desorption in this case definitely will be complicated by the irreversible reconstruction from (2×1) to (7×7).
