A summary of older work on oligocarbamates, and newer work on the synthesis of oligosulfones. The oligocarbamate work (originally reported in [12]) includes a solid-phase synthesis, and studies on the hydrophobicity and proteolytic stability of these oligomers. An antibody was raised against a parent oligocarbamate, then screened against an oligocarbamate library; the highest affinity ligands share a common epitope.

Edited by Wilcox CS, Hamilton AD. Dordrecht, The Netherlands: Kluwer Academic; 1996:111-136. A comprehensive review of our work on the design and synthesis of artificial β-sheets. The review describes the development of an oligourea scaffold to which peptide strands are attached, and the development of a β-strand mimic which organizes the strands through intramolecular hydrogen bonding. The review finishes with the description of an artificial β-sheet containing both the oligourea scaffold and the β-strand mimic.

A study on the binding properties of tweezer-like receptors based on vinylogous sulfonyl tripeptides. The two-armed receptors were screened against a tripeptide combinatorial library. The paper focuses on one of the three receptors tested; this receptor binds approximately 250 out of 50625 tripeptides, with significant sequence selectivities. The analogous peptidic receptor binds approximately the same number of library members, but with different sequence preferences.
