A thoughtful mathematical analysis of the exponential rise of the incidence of CML with age. Coupled with the observation that the chance of progression does not seem to depend on the length of the chronic phase, this analysis leads to the conclusion that there are three rate-limiting mutations involved in the generation of chronic phase CML, but only one further stem cell mutation necessary for progression to transformation and blast crisis.

They were potent stimulators of lymphocyte proliferation in specific in vitro assays for dendritic cell function and should thus be attractive as antigen-presenting cells for the ex vivo generation of antileukemic T cells.
