    • The structures investigated in these theoretical studies are (R)-amino-(S)-4-hydroxy-5-methyltetrahydrofuran, 2′-deoxyribose-3′,5′-biphosphate, and 2′-deoxyribose-1′-amino-3′,5′-biphosphate. While there are structural similarities to the model compounds studied here, caution should be used in making a direct comparison to these theoretical results, since the degree of substitution in the former may result in larger distortions in the geometry-optimized structures.
