    • Virome diversity correlates with intestinal microbiome diversity in adult monozygotic twins
    • The researchers investigated the gut virome in adult twins and found that it was very diverse and individual but still they were able to identify many phages as part of a ‘core virome’. The virome composition seemed more similar between twins compared to unrelated individuals. This finding stands in contrast with what is previously found and could possibly be due to the fact that in this paper they used specialized bioinformatic tools (HMMs) to reduce the amount of unannotated sequences.
