Aspirin, but not propranolol, attenuates the acute stress-induced increase in circulating levels of interleukin-6: a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study. Brain Behav Immun. 2008;22(2):150–7. In this randomized controlled trial in healthy men, we could demonstrate that 100 mg of daily aspirin for a total of 5 days signficantly attenuated the increase in the interleukin-6 response to acute psychosocial stress up to 2 h after stress cesssation.
