(a) Normally, not all precursor molecules are activated by MAO under catalytic conditions, even when a large excess of MAO is employed; 10%-60% active sites have been reported for Zr-metallocene catalysts in the literature but Ti-metallocenes and post-metallocenes are known for their instability and 5% appears to be a reasonable guess.
