    • While the corresponding ammonium salt [p-Tol2NH2][B(C6F5)4] also promotes said dimerization, it is slightly less potent than [p-Tol2N(H)SiEt3][B(C6F5)4]. This could be another factor why p-Tol2NH is not suitable as Lewis base component for the catalytic hydrogenation of olefines.
