    • The difference between weight retentions of Y-initiator-functionalized silica particles and polymer brush-grafted silica particles at 100 °C is presumably caused by the water or other volatiles. This difference was taken into consideration in the calculation of grafting densities of polymer brushes by vertically shifting the curves to the same position-the higher weight retention at 100 °C as described in the following paper
