The spectral resolution of the laser system employed in ref. 29 did not allow the syn and anti conformations to be distinguished CC2 and EOM-CCSD calculations on the vertical excitation energies of the OMpCA chromophore have been reported before in ref. 19. Our calculations are in excellent agreement with these results
