The van der Waals surface areas were calculated with the software HyperChem Professional 8.0 and represent the surface of the union of the spherical atomic surface defined by the van der Waals radius of each component atom in the molecule (see also A. Bondi, J. Phys. Chem. 68 (1964) 441). The van der Waals surface encloses a volume called molecular volume, both of them being rather conventional abstractions than "real" surface and volume of a molecule and the calculated numbers are used here only as a means of comparison.
