    • We have not observed significant influence of the change in the target-substrate distance on the morphology and lattice strain of LSMO, CFO, or BTO. The target-substrate distance is an important parameter at high oxygen pressure when the kinetic energy of the atoms in the laser plasma decreases during plasma expansion. Recently, critical influence on the growth of LSMO films was observed to occur at pressures higher than 0.2 mbar [J. E. Boschker, E. Folven, A. F. Monsen, E. Wahlström, J. K. Grepstad, and T. Tybell, Cryst. Growth Des. 12, 562 (2012)]. In our case, the oxygen pressure is 0.02 mbar for BTO and 0.1 mbar for LSMO and CFO. 10.1021/cg201461a
