Sex Transm Infect. 2012;88:484-8. doi: 10.1136/sextrans-2012-050618. This is the first NIH-funded study designed specifically to test condom effectiveness against non-viral sexually transmitted infections. The findings clearly illustrate that condom effectiveness is dependent on correct use.

This review paper reports findings on condom use errors and problems in fourteen countries. The findings make a very clear case that condom use errors and condom use problems are ubiquitous globally.
