    • Congruencies in increased mortality rates, years of potential life lost, and causes of death among public mental health clients in eight states
    • The authors compared the standardized mortality rates between patients with serious mental illness and the general population. Although they found differences related to mortality that was related to geographics, they did show that the majority of years lost attributed to mental illness was related to the occurrence of cardiovascular disease
