    • 3 (9.87 g, 30.3 mmol) were dissolved in DMSO (35 mL). The mixture was stirred in a closed vial under an argon atmosphere for 5 h at 150 °C. Brine (150 mL) was added, and the mixture was extracted with EtOAc (3 × 50 mL). The combined organic layers were concentrated in vacuo onto Celite and purified by column flash chromatography on silica with heptane as eluent to give compound 2 as a white solid (2.25 g, 87%). The product was recrystallized from MeOH to afford 2 as a white cotton-like substance. Characterization data was in accordance with Ref. 3.
