Differences in the two populations (engineering or physics major) are not addressed in this paper as there do not seem to be any findings suggesting that these differences significantly influence student responses. There is a mixing of student populations due to cross-enrollment, and Fig. indicates that population differences with respect to incoming perspectives on atomic electrons are not significant.
