    • Physical measurements: The UV-visible and IR spectrophotometers used in this study, as well as the elemental analyses were the same as that reported elsewhere [1a, 1b]. The temperature dependence of the magnetic susceptibilities was measured with a Quantum Design MPMS-5 S SQUID susceptometer operating at a magnetic field of 0.5 T over a temperature range of 4.5-300 K. The susceptibilities were corrected for the diamagnetism of constituent atoms using Pascal's constants [44]. The effective magnetic moments were calculated from the equation μeff = 2.828√χAT, where χA is the magnetic susceptibility per mole of CuII mononuclear unit.
