    • The structural and binding features of the new macrocycle differ significantly from those of members of the cucurbit[n]uril family. Therefore, we proposed the trivial name bambus[6]uril for the macrocycle. The trivial name is derived from, the subfamily Bambusoideae, as the macrocycle resembles part of the bambooplant stem.
