We have tried the guest exchange reactions by soaking the crystals of complexes 6 or 7 in nitrobenzene or benzene solutions. The XRPD patterns, IR spectra and TLC have shown complete exchange of anthracene or biphenyl in case of nitrobenzene. The XRPD patterns before and after exchange remains same with minor differences indicating no major changes in structure occurred during the exchange. The quality of the single crystals that broke during the exchange is not good enough for single-crystal structure studies
