2-I] (4 mmol) in THF was added slowly and the reaction mixture was allowed to warm to rt gradually and stirred for two hours. After completion of the reaction (TLC), it was evaporated under vacuum and the crude was partitioned between ethyl acetate (15 mL) and water. The organic layer was washed with citric acid solution (10%, 10 mL), water and brine. After drying over sodium sulfate, the organic phase was concentrated and the crude was purified through column chromatography using EtOAc in hexane (10-15%) as eluent.
