    • X-ray scattering information obtained from near-field speckle
    • The use of near field images for static and dynamic small angle X-ray scattering is demonstrated. Compared to typical X-ray instrumentation, the near field one is very simple, being based only on a pixel sensor and possibly a monochromator. In particular, for dynamic measurements it is not necessary to employ pinholes or apertures, as commonly done in X-ray Photon Correlation Spectroscopy. This gives a four order of magnitude increase in the scattering signal

This paper describes a novel experimental method for the investigation of the dynamic activity of complex fluids. This method allows to perform simultaneously a space and time resolved investigation of soft matter systems. In this case the drying process of a colloidal dispersion (paint film) is monitored via maps of the system dynamical activity. A peculiar speckle-echo illumination scheme allows to achieve simultaneously a high-resolution both in time and space, relying on an externally generated large number of statistically independent replicas of the signal of interest.
