Impact and outcomes of routine microstaging of sentinel lymph nodes in breast cancer: Significance of the pN0(i+) and pN1mi categories

In this study, 954 sentinel nodes were revised. The more sensitive evaluation of sentinel nodes led to the increased identification of very small metastases. In this series, no differences in survival between pN0i-, pN0i+ and pN1mi categories for breast cancer were found

Extensive pathological analysis of selected melanoma sentinel lymph nodes: High metastasis detection rates at reduced workload

This study showed 20% of sentinel node metastases in cervical cancer patients was detected by ultrastaging. Authors conclude examination of sentinel nodes should be aimed at optimizing detection of most metastases, this should include ultrastaging

Cervical and hysteroscopic injection for identification of sentinel lymph node in endometrial cancer

In this study, two types of tracer injection were compared: cervical and hysteroscopic injection. They conclude both procedures are feasible, but the hysteroscopic procedure might represent the only method able to highlight the complete lymphatic drainage of the uterus as suggested by the presence of paraaortic-positive SLN only in this group
