    • The yield was indirectly estimated by quenching the soluble aryllithiums in the combined removed supernatants with ethanol, resulting in the formation of a residue consisting of bromobenzene and lithium ethoxide (∼1:1) upon evaporation of the solvents. From the weight of this residue, the amount of side-products and thereby the yield of the lithiation reaction was estimated
