Squamous overgrowth is not a safety concern for photodynamic therapy for Barrett's esophagus with high-grade dysplasia

This study assessed histologically the prevalence of squamous overgrowth and degree of subsquamous dysplasia or cancer in patients with HGD treated with PDT trial. It reported the highest grade of neoplasia was not found beneath squamous mucosa in any patients and there was no significant difference in squamous overgrowth between PDT-group and non PDT-group.
