    • They used 5-magnesio-2,3-dibromothiophene as a AB2 monomer, however, the lithiation of 2,3-dibromothiophene with LDA afforded 2-lithio-3,5- dibromothiophene rather than 5-lithio2,3-dibromothiophene via the base-catalyzed halogen dance mechanism (see Fröhlich, H.; Kalt, W J Org Chem 1990, 55, 2993-2995). Accordingly, the hyperbranched polymer they prepared may include unexpected branching pattern.
