4 to the orange solution yielded the red oil. After removal of water, the product was precipitated by addition of petroleum ether (500 mL). Red solid was collected by filtration. The product was purified by chromatography on a silica gel with ethyl acetate/petroleum ether mixture (1:2 v/v) as the eluent. Red microcrystals were obtained (yield 60%).
