    • This study identifies more than 100 QTLs for seed concentrations of mineral elements using Columbia × Landsberg erecta and Cape Verde Islands × Landsberg erecta recombinant inbred lines. Candidate genes for QTLs are identified as potential targets for the biofortification of crops, but of particular interest are strong QTLs with no candidate genes, indicating the existence of novel genes affecting uptake and seed storage of mineral nutrients.
