Dis Colon Rectum 2008 [Epub ahead of print]. The largest series published on this topic and demonstrates response rates from treatment of frequently diffuse disease of 60%. Unlike the earlier study by the same group which reported very high recurrence rates in HIV-infected patients compared with uninfected patients, this study found that extent of disease and not immunosuppression was the most important predictor to outcome.
