Obesity-associated improvements in metabolic profile through expansion of adipose tissue
-
This landmark study demonstrated that subcutaneous fat mass expansion in obese mice led to the normalization of metabolic parameters and that adinopectin may be involved in regulating this fat mass expansion

Waist circumference and cardiometabolic risk: a consensus statement from shaping America's health: Association for Weight Management and Obesity Prevention; NAASO, the Obesity Society; the American Society for Nutrition; and the American Diabetes Association. Obesity (Silver Spring) 2007; 15: 1061-1067. This recent consensus statement highlighted the difficulty of using currently recommended waist circumference cut-points; using these cut-points is unlikely to provide additional relevant clinical information about the patient that could alter management or treatment.
