Antibiotic treatment of the tick vector Amblyomma americanum reduced reproductive fitness
-
K. Clay is interested in how microbial symbionts may protect hosts from pests, pathogens and parasites in both plant and arthropod systems. O. Klyachko uses FISH and light microscopy to identify and localize microbes within host tissues, in addition to using diagnostic probes for identifying infections. N. Grindle develops molecular probes for diagnostic purposes and sequence analyses for phylogenetic identification. D. Civitello and D. Olseke are interested in disease ecology. C. Fuqua is broadly focused on cell-to-cell interactions in prokaryotes and conducts research on microbial biofilms, quorum sensing and microbial ecology.
