After the reaction is finished, the mixture is cooled to room temperature and extracted with diethyl ether in order to separate the products from the catalyst containing ionic liquid. The catalyst stays in the ionic liquid and can be used for the next reaction. The yield and the E/Z-ratio where determined by GC. In the case of the determination of isolated yields the products were purified by flash silica gel chromatography
