Plant Biotechnology 2007: 24: 57-70. *First cDNA array transcriptome analysis of a spd/spm over-accumulating fruit [31, One quarter of the genes on the array were differentially regulated in transgenics compared with wild-type fruit. The differentially expressed genes represented functional categories including transcription, translation, signal transduction, stress related, amino acid biosynthesis, ethylene biosynthesis and action, polyamine biosynthesis, isoprenoid pathway and flavonoid biosynthesis. It is shown that over-accumulation of spd/spm is associated with upregulation of anabolism-related genes and positively impacts nutritional quality
