We assume that the size of the AB detector is smaller than the phase coherence length (which can be several microns in metallic thin films at low temperatures) and that it is large enough such that we do not have to take into account the change of the area of the AB loop due to the fluctuating position of the oscillator. Furthermore, the setup is designed such that the electrons cannot make round-trips in the AB loop but leave the ring instead after going through either the upper or the lower arm. This explains why (in general) |T(x,Φ)|2 |T(x,-Φ)|2 [see M. Büttiker, Phys. Rev. Lett. 57, 1761 (1986)]. PRLTAO 0031-9007 10.1103/PhysRevLett.57.1761
