    • To be rigorous, one electron oxidation on the ligand of a M(ii)Pc affords just a radical species, as the starting Pc ligand has a net charge of (-2). However, the expression "π-radical cation" is widely used for this kind of species, since the phthalocyanine ligand is usually designated as Pc, omitting the fact that this ligand already carries two negative charges
