    • Steve Murphy studied the ecology of palm cockatoos for his PhD on Cape York and in New Guinea. Through this work he became interested in fire ecology and now works on several projects in the Kimberley region in Western Australia for The Australian Wildlife Conservancy. Mike Double is a molecular ecologist with interests in the social and mating systems of birds and mammals in south-eastern Australia. He also plays a role in increasing our understanding of sea-bird ecology, which provides information vital to their conservation. Sarah Legge is an ecologist who has worked on a diverse range of taxa including invertebrates, mammals and birds. She now runs the Northern Australian Research and Conservation Program for The Australian Wildlife Conservancy. Editor: Malte Ebach
