    • The addition of one equivalent of [PhNMe2H, B(C6́F5́)4] was shown to have a beneficial effect on the reactivity of the zinc catalyst. We attribute this to the formation of a cationic zinc species which is formed by the protonolysis of the zinc-methyl moiety. The disappearance of the zinc-methyl group was monitored by 1H NMR spectroscopy. It is most likely that the co-catalyst also accelerates the protonolysis of the alkyl-zinc moiety which is formed during the catalytic cycle
