The first Euro-Asia landbridge runs on the Trans-Siberian Railway via Russia. There are still major trade impediments to be tackled in the further development of the second landbridge even though both Kazakhstan and China have devoted significant efforts lately to reduce these impediments. Corruption and the differing track gauge on Chinese and Kazakh railways are two examples of such barriers that impede efficient transport, delay transshipments, and add transaction costs.
