    • More elaborate description of the dielectric screening than the 1/n4 term in the Förster formula involves the correct shape of the molecular cavity as well as the distance dependence of the screening.26 It becomes even more difficult in the present system due to the anisotropy of the PHTP host, and the high concentration of chromophores, which changes the effective polarizability of the medium. However looking at the polarizability tensor of PHTP, the anisotropy turns out to be rather weak, and also the change in the effective polarizability is estimated to be rather small. Moreover, keeping in mind, that the chromophores in the host-guest system are only weakly coupled, the distance dependence should be weak. Last but not least, the shape factor for rod-shaped molecules is expected to change the screening by less then 10% compared to Försters formulation.26
