    • Umdaus Press, Hatfield. Michael Lawes is the director of the Forest Biodiversity Research Unit (FBRU) and a professor at the School of Biological and Conservation Sciences, UKZN, where he has worked for 15 years. His research interests include forest ecology, biodiversity, conservation and management, and the behavioural ecology of Cercopithecus monkeys and Ploceiid birds. Harriet Eeley is a postdoctoral researcher with the FBRU. Her research interests include forest biodiversity, primatology, landscape ecology, biogeography and macroecology. Nicky Findlay completed her BSc in Wildlife Science in 1999, doing her 4th-year project with the FBRU. She is now researching an MSc on the effects of fertilization on animal preference and intake of perennial rye grass. Dale Forbes completed his MSc in 2003 with the FBRU. He is currently working in Costa Rica on the reintroduction and conservation of Scarlet Macaws. Editor: Malte Ebach
