35. Adrian Davis is a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Pretoria (U.P.). He is currently concerned with the distribution and ecophysiology of scarabaeid dung beetles across environmental gradients. He has 25 years' experience investigating the taxonomy, ecology and biogeography of African dung beetles, originally with the CSIRO Dung Beetle Research Unit, and subsequently at the Universities of Cape Town and Pretoria.
36. Clarke Scholtz is currently Head of the Department of Zoology and Entomology, U.P. His current research interests include the systematics of the Scarabaeoidea, their evolution, and patterns in their biogeography and ecology. He is editor of Insects of Southern Africa, the major faunal work for the region
37. Steven Chown is a Professor in the Department of Zoology and Entomology, U.P. His current research interests include the biogeography and ecophysiology of both continental and island taxa. Most of his work is conducted in South Africa.
