    • Although the word 'genocide' is not mentioned in the Charter of the Nuremberg Tribunal, it was included in the categories of war crimes and crimes against humanity. The term also did not appear in the judgment itself, which spoke of 'a plan to get rid of whole native populations by expulsion and annihilation, in order that their territory could be used for colonization by Germans'. The indictment however used the word 'genocide'. See
