There was evidence of a protective effect on haemorrhagic stroke, but because of the small numbers of haemorrhagic stroke this was imprecisely estimated.

Intima media thickness progression was greater in both intervention arms than in placebo.

This prospective cohort study examined the hypothesis that age at initiation modifies the effect of HRT on CHD. The study found that any protective effect appeared greater at older age of initiation (opposite of what the hypothesis suggests).
