Dynamics of HIV viremia and antibody seroconversion in plasma donors: Implications for diagnosis and staging of primary HIV infection
-
Fiebig EW, Wright DJ, Rawal BD, et al.: Dynamics of HIV viremia and antibody seroconversion in plasma donors: implications for diagnosis and staging of primary HIV infection. AIDS 2003, 17:1871-1879. The results of exhaustive testing of "seroconversion panels" (serial samples obtained from seroconverting blood and serum donors) are presented using a wide array of commercially available tests. Although many may take issue with some of the paper's results, it provides unique and useful data on the utility of specific types of HIV testing at different disease stages.
