    • Because of the strongly acidic properties of HOT-based microemulsions we tested its stability, and found no changes for the absorption spectra of 2-nitroaniline (e.g. those showed in Figure 3) with time. Our stability results are in agreement with the fact that HOT surfactant was previously prepared as an intermediate in changing the NaOT counterion. See, for example: c) C. Petit, P. Lixon, M. P.     • Distribution of the reagents along the different microenvironments of the microemulsions can be defined in terms of molar ratio, as we have proved from kinetics (see L. García-Río, E. Iglesias, J. R. Leis, M. E. Peña, J. Phys. Chem. 1993, 97, 3437-3442;

    • Reagent concentrations in the different pseudophases of the microemulsions can be referred to the total volume of the system or to the volume of the pseudophase. They can be interconverted by considering the volume of the pseudophase. See, for example: L. García-Río, J. C. Mejuto, M. Pérez-Lorenzo, Chem. Eur. J. 2005, 11, 4361.
