Reduction in albuminuria translates to reduction in cardiovascular events in hypertensive patients: Losartan Intervention for Endpoint Reduction in Hypertension Study. Hypertension 2005; 45:198-202. Important sub-study from the LIFE study showing that a reduction in albuminuria in hypertensive patients during treatment was associated with a decreased incidence of CVD, suggesting a direct relationship between reduction of albuminuria and regression of hypertensive vascular disease. It is clear, however, that this reduction in albumin resulted in an amelioration of hypertensive renal vascular disease.
