    • 2 + 1/2PhS-SPh with ΔH = -18.9 ± 1.2 kcal/mol; this compares to data in Table 4 (divided by 2) of ΔH = -21.1 ± 0.5 kcal/mol. The disagreement between these two values is outside experimental error by 0.5 kcal/mol. The derived data rely on the purity of the PhS-SPh. A possible reason for this slight disagreement is that the current sample was more pure. Care was taken to ensure that the recrystallized dichalogenides were not only spectroscopically pure as judged by NMR data but also of high crystal quality. To compare the three complexes shown in Table 4, samples from the same batches of dichalcogenides were used for each metal.
